A couple of Wagon labels from the National Coal Board's
Haunchwood Colliery and West Cannock Collieries. Each coal wagon carried a
label to show the date, the originating colliery, the destination, the account
to be charged, the wagon identity, and a description of type and the weight of
the coal consigned. The two labels above show a consignment of 'washed nuts' on
6th February 1960 to the Alcester Cooperative from Haunchwood Colliery,
chargeable to the Cooperative Wholesale Society in Manchester and on 21st
September 1962 a consignment of 'large coal group 3' to TM Dixon Ltd who were
local coal merchants.
