Looking towards Stechford with the former LNWR Type 4
Washwood Heath Signal Box on the left and the branch to the former Midland
Railway's Derby to Birmingham line in front on the right. The siding on the
left was only used by locomotives which needed to run around the train standing
on the down line. This was because of the trailing points installed at the
junction which required trains from Aston to reverse down the line. 5th May
1961
