View of the 1918 built Washwood Heath Junction Signal Box and behind, the shunting neck used to shunt wagons into the Back Fan. This was the third signal box on this site the first opening in 1876 and the second on 29th December 1889. Washwood Heath Junction Signal Box was opened on 8th September 1918 and remained in service until 24th August 1969 when it was finally closed. 5th April 1969
