Another view of Washwood Heath Sidings No 4 Signal Box with the Brake Van road immediately behind the box and the cooling towers in the distance. Trains of wagons that had arrived at the Down Arrival roads would be reversed past Washwood Heath Sidings No 3 Signal Box and past Washwood Heath Sidings No 4 Signal Box onto the shunting neck. The Brake Van would then be released to stand on the siding alongside No 4 signal box allowing the locomotive to propell the wagons forward in to the appropriate siding. Each siding was allocated for traffic to be forwarded to specific locations, such as Lawley Street, Camp Hill, Cheltenham, Bromsgrove, Longbridge, Bordesley for local traffic, Bordesley for Banbury, etc. 31st October 1971
