LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Wixford Station: mrwix589

Looking along the full length of Wixford station's platform towards Broom with the passenger buildings at the Broom end of the station. Bob Essery in his book on the Evesham to Barnt Green route queried the existence of the barrow crossing in the foreground of the photograph. One explanation is that this was a shortcut to the unnamed lane to the village of Arrow just outside Alcester and it must have been used by both station staff passengers as a short cut. The lane can be better seen in the image 'mrwix588'.
