Whitacre Station: mrwj1862

A 1902 25 inch to the mile Ordnance Survey map showing the four routes running into Whitacre Station. The line from Water Orton is to the left; the line to Leicester exits to the right; the line to Derby proceeds to the the top whilst the branch to Hampton exis at the bottom of the image. Birmingham Corporation Water Works' Pumping Station and the adjacent Whitacre Reservoir are seen bottom left. The lines from Tamworth seen approaching Whitacre run approximately north-west to south-east but at either end of the platforms are sharp curves, so that a little beyond the station they run from north the south, the up line being on the west side of the down line.
