Ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 48247 passes British Railways Standard Class 4 2-6-0 No 76086 at Water Orton junction on 21st May 1966. Built as WD No 70301 in April 1940 by the North British Locomotive Company, No 48247 received its British Railways number in September 1949 which it carried until August 1968 when it was withdrawn from 10F Rose Grove to be scrapped. Built by Horwich works in May 1957, No 76086 was to have a very short working life being withdrawn in September 1966 from 6C Croes Newydd shed to be scrapped.
