A British Railways Bogie Bolster 'C', No B943423, is seen loaded with timber at Water Orton circa 1959. Paul Bartlett writes, 'British Railways built about 4290 Bogie bolster Cs without continous brake. Initially they were similar to GWR wagons but the design evolved with varying arrangements of bolsters and bogies. Generally they went out of use around 1980'. Photographer James S Doubleday.
