LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Nuneaton

British Railways built Caprotti 5MT 4-6-0 No 44744 approaches the station on an up express from Bristol. According to the shed plates on No 44744's smokebox she was allocated to Barrow Road shed in Bristol at the time of this photograph. Built at Crewe works in July 1948 No 44744 was to remain in service until November 1963 when it was withdrawn from 9A Longsight shed.
