LMS Route: Stratford Midland Junction - The Shakespeare Route

Ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 48204 passes by Binton station at the head of a mineral train on 25th April 1960. An imposing array of working steam traction engines stand in the yard of Bomford & Evershed who hired out the machines. Built as LMS No 8204 by the North British Locomotive Company of Glasgow in July 1942, the locomotive was renumbered as No 48204 in July 1948 which it retained until August 1967 when it was withdrawn from 8C Speke Junction shed to be scrapped.
