The platform has been built using old but sound railway sleepers with a hardstanding made of hard-core covered with compacted aggregates. The large pair of doors are unusual and not explained in either Arthur Jordan's or JM Dunn's books. The structure was solely used for the sidings and without passenger services calling at the station it is unlikely that there was any parcels traffic. The route as a whole was very lightly populated with Burton Dassett being no exception and with Fenny Compton being only two miles away its hard to understand why this configuration was adopted.
