Diagram showing the simple layout of Ettington station and goods yard as seen on 24th April 1884 some seven years after its initial closure and ten months prior to it being re-opened. The East & West Junction Railway had provided a simple timber built 'Waiting Shed' on the down line for passengers to Stratford upon Avon whilst a more substantive brick built building, accommodating a Booking Office and Booking Hall with ladies and gentlemen's toilets, was provided on the up platform. The good shed was located on the single siding which had a head shunt incorporated so that shunting the yard did not require the occupation of the main line. The signal box can be seen at the Fenny Compton end of the down platform.
