An ex-LMS 4F 0-6-0 No 44035 pauses at Fenny Compton and is
cleared to move on to Stratford at the SMJ signal. It would appear that either
the fireman is making his way to the signal box and is looking out for the
'bobby', possibly to hand over the staff from the section he has just passed
through or to do this and to collect the staff for the next section. A GWR
lower quadrant signal can be seen behind the waiting room on the former SMJ
platform and is cleared for a train on the down line to Leamington. Built as
LMS No 4035 by Derby works in January 1925, No 44035 was to remain in service
until February 1965 when it was withdrawn from 2F Bescot shed to be scrapped by
J Cashmores of Great Bridge.
