The crew of the Ro-Railer are seen changing the wheels configuration from travelling on the road to travelling on the rails. This process required each road or rail wheel to be raised in turn by using the device which was anchored to the body above each wheel set. The wheel to be used in travel then had to be tightened by bolts before the Ro-Railer could move. This was a slow process which if implemented today would be hydraulically powered and therefore much quicker.
