Ex-GWR 2-6-0 43xx class No 6368 and ex-GWR 0-6-0 2251 class No 2246 at Stratford on Avon station on a down special

Ex-GWR 2-6-0 43xx class No 6368 and ex-GWR 0-6-0 2251 class No 2246 at Stratford on Avon station on a down special having just traversed part of the Stratford upon Avon and Midland Junction Railway from Woodford Halse on 12th October 1963. The Locomotive Club of Great Britain had arranged the 'Thames, Avon and Severn Rail Tour' starting from London and would be heading off for the next stop at Worcester Shrub Hill. Built at Swindon works to Lot 230 in October 1925, No 6368 was not to remain in service for much longer being withdrawn in December 1963 from Horton Road shed in Gloucester to be scrapped in April 1965 by the Steel Supply Company of Jersey Marine in Swansea. The former GWR 0-6-0 No 2246 was built at Swindon to Lot 347 in August 1945 and it too was withdrawn in December 1963 but this time from Worcester shed to be scrapped in April 1964 by RA King of Norwich.
