Ex-MR 0-4-4T No 1418 stands outside the original shed structure after the discontinuation of the Ro Railer service in 1932. The failure of the Ro-Railer experiment meant that an alternative solution was needed. To replace it on the same working MR class 2228 0-4-4T locomotives were draughted in from KentishTown. In all four members of the class, No 1418, No 1425, No 1426 and No 1427 were to be allocated. What is unclear to the author is if one Ro-Railer was replaced by four of these locomotives or whether if the Ro-Railer experiment had worked, then additional Ro-Railers would be required to meet the service requirements.
