LMS Route: Stratford Midland Junction - The Shakespeare
Route
Stratford on Avon Station: smjsa43
Looking towards Fenny Compton with the SMJ signal box
erected in 1910 standing at the west end of the up platform on 5th April 1952.
In the centre of the photograph can be seen a pair of coaches standing at the
down platform. To the right behind the down platform stands the rebuilt
locomotive shed. It was during 1952, the year the photograph was taken, that
British Railways added "Old Town" to the SMJ's station's name to distinguish it
from the ex-GWR station known as 'West'.
