E&WJR and SMJ - Locomotives and Rolling Stock: smjsa52b

Ex-E&WJR 2-4-0T No 6, resplendent in its SMJ livery, stands gleaming in the sun at the head of a Towcester train circa 1909-10. The locomotive was another from the Beyer Peacock stable being built in 1884 and rebuilt in 1907 before being withdrawn in 1916. The SMJ prohibited tank engines such as No 6 from working bunker first between Stratford upon Avon and Broom.
