A three car BRCW Diesel Multiple Unit, on a special working, has just passed the diminutive Bedlam Gates Signal Cabin on 23rd August 1981. This signal cabin controlled one signal either side of the crossing as well as the level crossing gates. The special working was required due to engineering work on the Rugby to Birmingham section of the Birmingham to Euston line. Passengers to and from Coventry were routed via Nuneaton where they would board one of the special workings.
