View of the northern approaches to the station taken along the River Avon during the first year of the Second World War

In this view taken by Rugby Borough Council of the cleaning of the River Avon shows the northern approach to the station in September 1940. The double signal gantry seen on the right is the same seen in image 'lnwrrm866'. Brian Eite writes, 'the photograph shows the tunnel from the Black path to Old Station Square. The buildings in the back ground with the clock tower are part of the English Electric works. Newbold Road bridge would have been to the left of the photograph.
